DELTATRAVELER - v3.1.0 Preview Build 2
Hi again! We reached another milestone pretty quickly, which I'm surprised about considering the nightmares I've heard about upgrading Unity versions.
This major milestone being: We are now using the latest Unity version! Unity 6!!! This means the game will be up to date for a very long time. It also means that Mac support is a possibility. The next step for that is spending a thousand dollars on a new MacOS device... You'll know if I spent that money when you see Mac support pop up.
We also fixed a lot of bugs from the previous preview build. Shocker that the game was broken in a lot of ways. Some of the fixes involve fixing issues with SAVE file conversion, which... if you've already converted your old SAVEs and then saved over them, you did not heed our warnings and your SAVE may forever be screwed up.
Quick reminder that THIS IS AN INCOMPLETE VERSION OF THE GAME. There are things that may be BROKEN and could corrupt your SAVE files!!! If you choose to participate in public testing, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you backup your SAVE files. (currently located in AppData/LocalLow/RynoGG/DELTATRAVELER on Windows)
Like the first build, this new one will be located in the "Other Downloads" section of the site.
For this and the future public builds, we'll include two release note sections; one for overall additions/changes to v3.1.0 that were accomplished, and one for the fixes we've done exclusively between preview builds. And here they are:
New Outright Changes
General
* Upgraded to Unity 6 (from 2018.3.14f1). The most notable change SHOULD be that this gets rid of the "Made in Unity" screen when you open the game, though it could've broken things throughout the game.
* Introduced a debuff on Dual Heal where the heal amount decreases per use. The maximum is reached after 6 uses. This debuff doesn't occur in Easy Mode.
* Reworked the Mini-ACT system (S-ACTION / N-ACTION) to be more dynamic, which isn't noticable in-game at this time except for the test fight.
* YOU WON text is now unskippable like in Undertale.
Section 1
* Rock pushing should be a bit more smooth.
Hard Mode
* Gave Frisk the initial run speed that Kris has.
Section 2
* Fixed the SOUL rendering over Porky beam FOR GOOD.
* Fixed issue where parrying sometimes registered two parries in a single frame.
Section 3
* Fixed a softlock related to the ice sliding XO puzzle.
Changes between previews
SAVE CONVERSION
* Fixed an issue where legacy SAVE files weren't being initialized properly
* Fixed an issue where HP wasn't being calculated correctly on legacy saves
* Fixed a vital issue where Paula's equipment wasn't initialized when old SAVEs are converted, which affects Section 2 saves among other things.
(NOTE: The SAVE conversion changes only affect files from previous versions before the preview builds being converted to the new format.)
General
* Fixed party member sprites not being hidden during a battle transition if they aren't in your party
* Fixed various issues involving slot-based party member calls (magic targetting, Susie Lesser Dog, Noelle sleep mist / ice shock check, Napstablook damage, enemy retargetting, dream sequence healing)
* Added more inventory specificity to more item get scenarios.
* Corrected Paula's Wristwatch equip remark.
* All Egg trades now stop the trade if you don't have space available in the respective inventory.
* Disabled Training Mode outright.
* Preview testing disclaimer now fades out properly.
* Fixed a crash related to unequipping the bandage when your ITEMs inventory was full. The bandage is placed in your equipment in that scenario.
Battle
* Fixed a few issues with the new tabbing system in battle.
* A few instances of yellow UI selection now account for the UI flavor.
* Fixed fight action being screwed up after the player uses Red Buster and/or Paula uses PK Freeze/Fire.
* Fixed issue where single battles had no audio.
Section 1
* Dream Sequence 1 now gives the player a slight overheal.
Hard Mode
* Potentially fixed a crash related to LOSTCORE.
* Fixed Frisk being labelled as LV 1 if they're the first party member.
Section 3
* Fixed an issue with the Undyne chase sequence where a cutscene trigger was erroneously disabled.
* Fixed Susie and Noelle's stats in UNOTRAVELER.
* Fixed the DRAW button in UNOTRAVELER being greyed out if you have no items.
* Fixed crash caused by obliteration electricity maze.
The next preview build should be further away, since it'll involve a lot more changes and conversions and transfers (this will be the RynoGG to VyletBunni / persistent SAVE file conversion / new Extras menu milestone). It'll also be the first preview build with a Linux version (for obvious reasons). I'm aiming to also have more content updates in this next one as well, but we'll see.
